Too Old to Land City CFO Job?

I had a dream an H.R. Director turned me down for a Finance Director interview at her City.  Click to watch

This was just a dream, but in my dream, I empathized with the H.R. Director as she sheepishly had to use legal means to explain why I was not a good fit for their organization.

In reality, I had to come to terms with the fact that young guys and gals can now kick my CFO butt as I’m not as competitive as I once was in my 20s, 30s, and 40s.

But that’s ok.

Even in real life, this reality of not being as competitive as we once were, calls for us to invest in ourselves to still be able to suck the marrow out of life!

Just pivot and do something else…something wonderful and exciting that pays the bills and enriches your life in more ways than you can imagine.

For me, if I just sit and whine or complain that I can’t land the CFO job I wanted is pathetic.

There’s 1.5 jobs for every job seeker out there, but they may not be the 1.5 jobs you want.

Nevertheless, there’s a ton of jobs and income producing opportunities out there for all of us, especially during this time when millions of “couch potatoes” sit and wait for what’s next.

Bottom line, you’re never too old to do anything you set your mind to do!

I’m actually not too old to land that City CFO job either, if I really wanted it, but now I’m more focused on helping others land that CFO job, and I’m happy doing that!

If you’re in the older category, like me, pivot!

Refresh. Reboot. Relaunch.

And reinvent yourself to do something else, including starting a new career, a side hustle, or go start your own business 100%!

The dream I had last night of getting turned down for the City Finance Director job, well, I’m ok with that. Really.

My real dream job now is helping job seekers and organizations find talent and solutions for their own staffing needs!
